Readings and Other Material

City government in Texas, as in most of the United States, was founded on, and continues to evolve from, the premise that local communities know best how to run their local affairs. This course is meant to provide an introduction to the type of municipality Salado is and the powers it has under the law.

There are a multitude of tools available to Texas cities to protect, preserve, and revitalize their communities. There are numerous city, federal, state, and private organizations that are excited and willing to share their knowledge and experience. Any city wishing to implement or enforce ordinances should take full advantage of the wide range of resources that are available.
